Joe Lockard

Joe Lockard is associate professor of English at Arizona State University. He recently completed the manuscript for an edited volume, Prison Pedagogies: Learning and Teaching with Imprisoned Writers (with Sherry Rankins-Robertson), and for seven years has taught a weekly poetry workshop at Florence State Prison. His current book projects are on the Native American writer Louis Owens (with A. Robert Lee, for University of New Mexico Press) and a monograph on censorship in the antebellum literature of US slavery.
